Spine Tingling Fun!

I had a ton of fun, creating and playing while making this layout with
Moxxie's All Hallow's Eve!  Check out the link
I used the latest sketch from
Sketchabilities #77.  I really didn't vary too much from the sketch like I normally do.  I just knew when I saw it that it was perfect for this layout!  And why mess with perfection?!
Please click on the above photo to see it in better quality, gloomy and yucky here...so it is kind of hard to see this dashing pirate's adorable face!
I used a bit of everything to create this...my Silhouette Cameo with several files, tons of Moxxie, a paper doily, Glimmer Mist and Ranger Dylusions, My Favorite Things Fish Tail Banners and a little of this and that!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Moxxie Made in Minutes

I just wanted to share some cards with you that I literally made in minutes.  I adore Moxxie Die Cuts and Stickers...great designs and you get tons of variety from each collection!

I love how easy it is to layer and create with the die cuts and stickers....it just makes the new trend of layering so dang easy.
For the cards that I created today I used the following Moxxie collections....Road To Recovery, All Hallow’s Eve and Very Merry Unbirthday.

I want to super stress to you that I really did make these in minutes, I usually stress over my cards and spend way too much time on them, but with Moxxie you just pick out your favorite die cut or sticker, pick out some coordinating card stock and layer away...that’s it, your done!

Made in Minutes1 -r to r

I added a bit of embossed card stock, bits of bling and twine to these Road To Recovery Cards.  I love this color combo, it is one of my favorite looks of the year.

I reach for this collection over and over again.  There is just something about it that inspires me to create.

Made in Minutes2- AHE

Working with the All Hallow’s Eve collection is almost too easy...amazing designs and perfect spooky colors.  This is a must have collection for all you Halloween lovers.
I used Bazzill Swiss Dot Black Pepper Embossed card stock...picked my die cuts and stickers...again made in minutes.  Twine, buttons and pins were the finishing touches.

Made in minutes 3- MU

Again, with the Black Swiss Dot Black Pepper Embossed card stock.  It may be unusual to use black card stock with a birthday line...but the colors of Very Merry Unbirthday just simply pop when using black card stock.  I have used this line for several little people birthday layouts and I have just loved the results, so I had to give it a try with cards...and yep, I love these too!
Again, all I added was twine and flowers.

I and everyone here at Moxxie would love to see what you create with Moxxie Die cuts and Stickers.  Please post your creations to our Facebook page, you will be amazed and thrilled with the results of creating Moxxie Made in Minutes Style!

Cards and Doilies

I love creating cards and layouts using doilies...I had to restock my stash last week, that's how many I use.  I just love the soft touch that they add and they are just so perfect for layering!

Yep, I love them!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying the day!

Inspiration Elevator Challenge...Take a Peek!

You may recall from last month's challenge that the purpose of this challenge group was to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow. We love to have new faces join us on our journey and this month we welcome a new guest designer to join us.  Please join me in welcoming Denise Morrison. Denise's blog is aptly name "Life is Yummy" and so is her art!

This month our challenger was the very talented Ann Jobes. Her challenge to us is as follows:
This month's challenge is a journalling prompt. I realize some of us do not journal much on our pages, and if we're truthful, we mostly scrapbook for ourselves - it gives us joy, a creative outlet, etc. But we do hope that someone is going to page through these albums sometime in the future, right? For this month's challenge, I'd like you to think about some of those values or beliefs that are important to you.

There is no "right way" to do this. Spend some time thinking about this. It's your chance to share with future generations something that is important to you and makes you who you are. Take some time to collect some verses, quotes or sayings that speak to your soul. Choose one that you think is a "life verse" - something that really communicates the essence of you.

Use whatever photo(s) you think will suit your message. Enjoy putting a meaningful page together using your favourite techniques, style, papers - whatever makes it "you".

I know this is going to be difficult. I'm asking you to reverse your process and put the message first when we so often put our message/journalling last, as an afterthought, if at all.

This was a true challenge for me...first, I hardly ever journal, secondly, to do the journaling first and then add photos...super intimidating. Just maybe, my quote that I was inspired by gotta a little out of control in size.
I saw this quote on a wooden sign on Pinterest and fell in love with it...I knew it was perfect for this layout and every thing going on in my life lately!  Sometimes, life spins out of control...and that has been the case in my life lately.  My children decided to become crash test dummies, (two accidents within 3 days).  Both are healing and recovering. My mom had to have two back surgeries within 2 days...and my son got married yesterday!  Stress...but sometimes when I step outside and remember to look up...I am comforted.  There is nothing quite like the wide open prairie sky!  It is important to remember how much good there is in the world and more importantly to be the good!
The layout is clean and simple...the wonderful new Fancy Pants Good Life was perfect for this layout.  I cut the title with the Silhouette and layered a bit here and there...but for the most part wanted it to remain clean and simple!  Tough for me to leave that open space down in the left corner..but I did!  Lol!
Thanks Ann for such a wonderful challenge, I will be framing this and hanging it in my scrap room!

I hope you will stop by and see what the designers on this adventure have created:

We would love to see what you are inspired to create. Add your comment below with a link, I will be sure to drop by and say hello.

Here is my project for this month's hop!  I had so much fun creating this!  Love how it turned out!
It is was created from 3 nickel plated trays for the dollar store.
(excuse my finger prints)
I spray painted them matte black and then added the Moxxie All Hallow's Eve paper.  This is such a great spooky line...truly a Frightfully Fancy Halloween collection.  I added Moxxie diecuts and stickers, along with the vinyl tree, stars and a bat!  I cut some pumpkins on the Cricut with metallic card stock and embossed them and also a creepy black fence.  Added a black rose with some orange glitter and a few black leaves.  And of course, the creepy little skeleton hanging on the bottom tray!  Finished with some black lace!

So Let's Get Ready and Start Hopping
Cathy Harper (you are here)
I hope you have a lot of  fun along the way!  See you next month!

Silhouette Card...too cute!

Created this awesome Halloween card today using my Silhouette with a Lori Whitlock file!
Adore!  Super inspired by the amazing
Tamara Tripodi of Happy Little Crafty Wife.  If you don't follow her, you are missing out!
She has the coolest and most fun designs ever...she designs for Echo Park, Carta Bella, SVG Cuts, Lori Whitlock and more!
Here is her wonderful card that inspired me...mine does not compare.

This is mine
Nope doesn't compare, but was trying to come up with a design for Angie as a Halloween party invite..it is actually stands like a box and then flattens to fit in an envelope!
Pretty cool!

Moxxie Mini TP Tube Album

A mini album made from TP Tubes?  Really!
A super way to recycle and an easy way to create!

Pick out your favorite Moxxie Paper Collection and have some fun.
I used Road To Recovery...to create an inspiring, uplifting album!
You will need 5 empty TP tubes...flatten them and ink the edges with your choice of ink colors that match your Moxxie paper.
Tp tubes
Smushed tube

Next, cut 5 pieces of paper, your choice of pattern...to cover my tubes each piece needed to be 4 1/4 inch by 5 1/2, but you might want to double check, depending on what brand you are using!
Just add adhesive and adhere to the tube, add a bit of the same ink on the edges for a seamless look.
Now for the fun, just start creating, add Moxxie Die Cuts and Moxxie Stickers...layer, layer, layer.  Add buttons, doilies, flowers, twine, ribbon...anything you love!
Punch a hole with a Crop a dile in the upper left corner of each tube.

I added 5 tags, that I Distressed Inked and Glimmer Misted.  You can add photos and journaling to these fun little tags.  Make sure to add ribbon and twine to your tags too!

Insert your tags into the tubes and secure your mini album with a binding ring.
