Samantha Walker Easter Card

I had so much fun combining Samantha Walker Silhouette Files for this card, created for the Practical Scrappers Shaped Card post.
So cute and perfect to give Raini for Easter, tucked in her basket.  I just still need to come up with one for Gideon.
I used Samantha's Easter Egg Card, the grass for her
bunny easter banner and bunny Samantha Walker combined to create this fun little card.  I also used Samantha Walkers
I love the added accent of the sketch pens!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a creative week!

Hello Sunshine with Samantha Walker files

Hello Sunshine Trapezoid Purse with Cathy

I have a post up on the Samantha Walker Blog today with one of her new purse files and purse gift card files.  I have a friend who has been a little blue and under the weather, I wanted to create a little gift for her that would brighten her day like the sunshine.

I knew when I saw this
that it would be perfect.  I knew that I could add the Hello Sunshine into the pocket, I simply backed the negative cut with some yellow dotted card stock!

First, ungroup all of the purse pieces and just cut the four sides of your purse.  I used Samantha Walker's

Next, cut your pocket with you choice of paper, I chose to work with the same pattern.  I just reduced the Hello Sunshine file to fit inside the pocket.  I just eyeballed it to center it!  Once you have this cut, cut a piece of card stock to fit and back your negative cut.
I then cut four handle pieces, since I was using a textured card stock, I wanted to have the same appearance and texture on the inside and outside of the purse.  Just glue two piece together for each handle!
Now on to the assembly of the purse..I followed Samantha's awesome instructions.  You can find the instructions for all of her Purse Silhouette Files here.  I used Scor-tape and a bit of hot glue to adhere mine...I really wanted the sides to be super strong as I filled it with all the goodies below.
I filled it with everything I could find that was yellow to represent the sun and things I know that she will love!
And just as luck would have it, the day I finished creating the purse, Samantha designed matching gift card purses and envelopes to go with all of her super cute designs.  Of course, I had to make
to match!
How cute are these envelopes that the handle sticks out of the top.  Seriously, she thinks of every little detail.  Love that!  I added one of Samantha's new Layered Flowers to the front of the envelope!
Supplies: Trapezoid purse with Circle Handle and pocket, Hello Sunshine Title, Circle Handle Trapezoid with pocket gift card holder and envelope set, Flower 3 (links below). Carta Bella Giddy Up Girl collectionScor- tape, Hot glue gun, Textured dot yellow card stock, Brads,
Petaloo Flowers, white twine, blue chalking ink.

Hoping that you have a sunshine filled day and thanks for joining us today!

Amy Tangerine's Cut n Paste

Sharing some projects with you today that I designed for
American Crafts~ Amy Tangerine's Cut n Paste Collection.
It is such a fun line.  Bright, vibrant colors and gorgeous patterns. Back here, in South Dakota, it seems we are having the winter that never ends.  So it was treat to work with this springy line. Someday soon Spring will arrive, hopefully!

There are so many fun embellishments in this line that it makes creating projects so easy.  Everything goes together, so there is no way you can go wrong.  First up, is a cute layout featuring a good friend's daughter and her first job as a Soda Jerk.  I just love her shirt and cap. Just plain fun!

And of course, a fun layout of Stella!  So cute and having fun in her tutu catching falling leaves.  Titled "Smile" because she makes me smile at least a 1,000 times a day.

I also created this card featuring a new Silhouette file from Samantha Walker.  Such a fun pattern and it show off this collection so well!

And last, a cute little mini album that is also part of this Amy Tan Collection.  It is full of pictures of my daughter and her BFF.  This is a collection is perfect teens too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Quick Quotes March Q Club Kits

I am hosting the Quick Quotes Blog today...and I have a couple of fun projects to share with you.  I had so much fun creating with some Club Q kits.  I loved creating with these, so much gorgeous product and inspiration in these kits!

First up, I have little canvas that I created from the Altered Kit.  I used the little canvas that is designed for making the gorgeous mini album and created my own little inspiration for my scrap studio!

I love how this turned out, it was an easy and quick little project.  My Silhouette Cameo did most of the work and the gorgeous Quick Quotes products completed it with ease.  The new Baggage Claim is beyond perfect for this project!

My next project took just a little bit of time and I still need the perfect frame for it. I just couldn't find the perfect frame here in our small town..so I will post an update when I find it!

I used an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of burlap for my base, inked it with my favorite new Powderpuff Ink...Caribbean Blue. I cut the South Dakota shape, banner and words with the Silhouette Cameo. These papers came out of the Page Layout Kit.  I also used the Cameo to pierce all my holes for the string art too!  So next, all I had to do was the stitching and yes, it took me a little bit of time but it was well worth it!  I love this project and once I get the perfect frame it will be sitting on my sofa table as you enter our home!

Inspiration Elevator Reveal

Samantha Walker Creative Team Blog Hop is 3 posts below!
Click here!

You may recall that the purpose of this challenge group is to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and extend ourselves. You can view all of the challenges at our Inspiration Elevator Blog, here.
Our challenge this month was posed by the very talented Ann Jobes. Here's how she expressed this month's challenge. This idea has been cooking since the fall (just not articulated). My daughter subscribes to the Dance Spirit magazine and I sometimes browse through it, too. One of my favourite monthly features is an article that features a different dancer each month, some photos of that dancer, and a description of their current work, and (the best part!) a letter. The theme is a Letter to My Teenage Self. The content ranges, depending on the dancer and his/her experience, morals, ideals, etc.
So this month's assignment is to write a letter to your teenage self. You can take any approach you'd like to this - scrapbook page, art journal page, canvas. However the prompt inspires you. And your content is of course up to you, as well. Some topics might be: what would you try to teach yourself? Or, what would you counsel yourself to do or not do? This does not have to be a page about regrets. It could be about congratulating yourself on something you did right that has contributed to who you've become today.  Please visit the other Inspiration Elevator designers' blogs and see how they worked with Ann's challenge. We would LOVE to see you take up Ann's challenge this month, so if you do, please share it at our linkup on the Inspiration Elevator blog.

Here is my take on Ann's challenge:

I am having fun with a bit of art journaling...nothing as amazing as my team mates...but still having fun and making it my style!  I played with some Gelatos for the rainbow effect.  Tucked away of the back of the page is my letter to my teenage self.  Yes, very personal and not up to sharing, but this is how I feel about the past and the future.
Dear Future...I am ready!

I created a layout with the "Lucky" theme!  The layout shares my love for my English Bulldog, Stella and how lucky we are and how full my heart is to have this sweet little dog in our lives.
The stripes of the Rainbow are cut out of the white background and I filled the negative space with papers from Samantha's
Carta Bella Rough & Tumble Collection.  The "Lucky" was also cut from white card stock and then I layered lots of green buttons and sequins behind the title.  So fun!

New Sketch from Christine Meyer

Sharing a new sketch with you today from Christine Meyer.
I love working with her sketches...they always inspire me and make things fall together easily!  Christine is planning on creating a new sketch every week, so make sure to check out her blog on Saturdays!  I am hoping I will have time to play along every week, too!
I love that even though I only had one photo, the sketch still worked perfectly!  Yes, someday maybe I will be more than a one photo layout girl...but doubtful.  I used
 Bazzill's Sweetwater Lucy's Crabshack!
Perfect for this fun photo of two of my favorite little people playing in the fountains back home!

Tag, you're it at QQ!

I am up over on the Quick Quotes Blog with a new challenge!
Love for you to stop by and take a peek, enter the challenge and win some great Quick Quotes Products!

Tag, you're it!
In honor of Quick Quotes newest collection, Baggage Claim, we would love to see you use some type of tag on your card, layout or other off the page project.

Here is my take on the challenge...
I created a tag mini album using my Silhouette Cameo and Baggage claim, along with the New PowderPuff Chalking Inks.  All of the colors in the new inks match Baggage Claim perfectly!  Gorgeous new colors!  All of the edges of the kraft card stock and Baggage Claim papers are inked with Creamy Cocoa PowderPuff Ink.
The mini consists of 6 pocket pages that are perfect for Instagram photos.  I can't wait to take a trip, so I can add some fun photos and memorabilia.  I stamped with a text stamp on the fronts of the folders with the new Khaki PowderPuff Ink.  It's the perfect color for stamping on kraft card stock!

If you look real close at the tags, you can see that I splattered them with two colors of the new inks, Coral and Caribbean Blue.  I just wet a paint brush and then dab it onto the ink pad and flicked the bristles with my finger.  It is a subtle effect but adds interest!
I can't wait to see what you create with the
Tag! You're It Challenge.  You have a chance to win a great prize from Quick Quotes for playing along!
