All American with EP's Independence Day

Hoping everyone had a safe and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend.  We really didn't do much at all, which left me some free time to scrap and create.  I have just a simple and fun page to share with you today with EP's Independence Day Mini collection, this was created for The Scrapbooking Studio.  I was so inspired by the simplicity of this layout that I had to lift it, you see it here.  Such a great page...sometimes simple is the way to go.

I love this and thank you Mary for sharing this photo with me.
It's just way too cute!

Here is the card I created for our theme this month...a fun graduation mortar board card.  It was simple to create, gotta love that.  I used Samantha's cd or card wrap file and cut it the size it appears on your mat.  I used Bazzill Dotted Swiss Pepper for the mortar board.  I then cut a white square to fit inside and cut Samantha's Oh Happy Day file in the Pepper Dotted Swiss for my sentiment.  I had to reduce the size to fit the inside of the card.
Yep, told you it was super simple but I love the look of this card..clean and simple!
Finish with a button in your Graduate's school color and a tassel!

Flower Pot Card with Baggage Claim

Sharing a card that I created for Mother's Day with the gorgeous Baggage Claim collection and a little help from my Silhouette Cameo.  I used a cut file from Lori Whitlock, you can find the file here.

The only thing I did differently with the cut file, was I add another layer behind each flower and a three more leaf cuts. After I cut all the pieces, I inked each and every piece with a coordinating PowderPuff Ink.  I love the soft shadowing effect that this inks give.  The Coral and Caribbean Blue are my favorites.  After I inked all the pieces, I just layered the flower pieces and added a brad.  Once I had the leaves and flowers added, I curled some of the flower pieces with a pencil...just to give them a bit more body!

The flowers pull out of the pot and you can add your sentiment to this piece.  I trimmed down a vellum quote from an Itty Bitty Quote box and adhered it with a glue dot hidden by that little heart.

The quote reads:

Mothers hold their children's hands
for just a little while....
Their hearts forever...

Just a quick post to wish my Mom and all of you wonderful Moms, a very Happy Mother's Day!
Sharing the card I sent to my Mom, created with several
Samantha Walker files and some Doodlebug papers!
The butterfly actual moves and follows the circle of the card...love the interactive cards from Samantha Walker.  I used the
Interactive Hot Air Balloon Card as my base and switched out the balloon for a butterfly!  Super fun and super easy!

Sketchy Saturday-Week 10

Thanks goodness it's the weekend...it's been a very long week.  So thankful that it's over and now on to a quiet weekend at home!
I had time to play this week with another great sketch from Christine Meyer.  You can find her blog here and her Facebook page here.

I changed it up just a bit, that is the sign of great sketch for me....just a jumping point.  I created a pie chart for my circle and then only used one photo and a 4x6 piece for Simple Stories Summer Paradise that I got from The Scrapbooking Studio.  Such a fun mini line!  Thanks Casey for sharing this amazing photo with me!  What a great shot!

Enjoy your weekend.  Go. See. Do
