Pebbles From Me to You Card

Another fun card to share with you using Pebble's Front Porch collection and a just a touch of water colors.  So fun to add just a bit of color and really make things pop with the water colors.

Check out those adorable little doughnut shaped dots that Angie made...this was the first attempt and now after several more tries, she called this morning to say she has it perfected.  

Gotta love Pinterest ideas and fails!

Just a super quick post to share another card created with watercolors and some Pebbles Front Porch and From Me to You collections.  Also, combined with a fun pocket die from Taylored Expressions called  Part of my Heart.  Loving their stuff with my new Teresa Collins Ebosser! The Pebble's collections are gorgeous papers that just remind you of long Summer days.  Hoping that Summer remembers to arrive in a few days.  Last night it was 44 degrees here....brrr!

I cut two piece of Bazzill Dotted Swiss to layer and used watercolor to paint them with! I love the soft look!

Here is my Birthday themed layout created with the fun new 

Carta Bella Summer Lovin' Collection designed by

 Samantha Walker!  I created a fun Shaker Box with Happy Birthday Phrase #35666 and a fun circle scalloped border set #9359.

Here's a close up of the shaker box...so fun and fairly easy to create!

After I cut the original file, with the Happy Birthday words and scalloped square piece, I started to create the layers needed for my shaker box.  The Happy Birthday square measures 5.219, so I created a square the exact same size.

Then I did an internal offset of that square at 0.184!

Next, group your shape and duplicate it so that you have four squares!  You will need to cut this twice, so you have a total of eight squares.  These build the layers for your shaker box and give it the depth needed for the sequins.

Glue all 8 layers together.

Then glue those 8 layers to your scalloped square.

Fill with sequins and glue on a clear plastic piece and your Happy Birthday cut piece!  There you have it, a Happy Birthday shaker box for the main embellishment on your page.  The possibilities are really endless with the technique!

Playing with WaterColors

I have been super inspired by all the beautiful watercolor cards and layouts that I have seen lately on Two Peas in a Bucket and lots of designer's blog.  So, when I was in Rapid, I stopped at Michael's and picked up a set of Reeve's Water Colours.

This was my first attempt with them...nothing fancy, but I am pretty pleased with the results!

Happy Monday!  I am back after a quick trip home to see my parents, it was wonderful to be back in the beautiful Black Hills for a couple of days.  I have lots to catch up on so hoping I will have a new blog post everyday this week!

Today, I am up on the Quick Quotes Blog for day 1 of our hop with Petaloo!  I don't often get the chance to play with flowers anymore....but these flowers are beyond gorgeous and so detailed.  Plus, I love there trim packs....such a variety of textures to play with.  Here is the layout I created:

Echo Park's Independence Day Cards

Happy Monday!  I think this is going to be a fantastic week.  I just love summer, hoping the weather stays nice all week long!
