A little time to play...MME Sketch

I fell in love with this month's sketch from MME and decided I had time to play along...I had the perfect photos, perfect paper and now the perfect sketch!

I didn't change it up much..it was just too perfect and I loved the sketch!  Sometimes it just all works out...love that!  I don't use sketches that often and then only as a jumping point...but this one was meant to be!  Lol!

Fun with Straws and some Jillibean Soup!

Trying my hand at the straw craze.  Very fun!  I just love all the fun straws that are out there, so many companies and wonderful whimsical designs!

Taking time to Play

I had a bit of spare time this weekend just to create and play for myself..seems I never have enough time to just sit down and design something for me or by something that inspires me.  I was super inspired by the Thursday sketch over at Elle's Studio , and decided to give it a try.  I love the sunburst trend and I had some fun Elle's Studio products in my stash!

Here is my take on the challenge!

I die cut the top sunburst out of the white paper and layered paper strips behind and added a bit of pen work and used a smaller sunburst on the bottom.  Lots of layering, a few sprinkles and it was complete with the cutest little sock monkey ever!

"I have been thinking lately, that I have only done one layout of my childhood and realized that maybe some day, my kids or grandkids would enjoy looking at a few more pages and learning about my siblings, my parents and I.
So my challenge for you this month is to create a page about a childhood memory of yours. It can be a good, a bad, a funny, a photoless or whatever you choose kind of layout.

Just remember to add journaling to tell the story behind your childhood memory.

Such a fun challenge, I did not have any pictures from my childhood and had to have my mom send a few.  Loved this one that she sent of my brother and I.  Brings back memories of summer fun, summer squabbles and the wonderful childhood we both had.  We lived on the best block with tons of kids, lots of parks and pool nearby and it certainly was a simpler time to be a little kid.  Thanks Lisa for such a fun and inspiring challenge.
