3 Layouts with 1 Sketch

Creating and having some fun with Moxxie products this week!
Super inspired by a sketch I saw on Pinterest, it was from gotsketch.blogspot.com.
I can't share the sketch with you, the site does not give you permission for that, but do stop by their site...they have the most amazing sketches.
All 3 layouts were done with the same sketch, yet they all look so different with 3 different lines of paper.
First up the beautiful Road to Recovery.

 The gorgeous Shades of Autumn.
Lastly, the super fun Very Merry Unbirthday!
Sorry for the fuzzy picture..can't get this one to clean up...I need to rephotograph it in the sunlight.
So back to one sketch with 3 paper lines...fun, easy and would anyone every notice in your scrapbook that you used the same sketch for 3 different layouts...probably not!  They all look different and have so many other qualities to them.  All in all, in you fall in love with a sketch, use it more than once...free up some time and get those memories scrapped!

I still need to take the time to try this out on a layout, but I love how it turned out on this card with EP's Everyday Eclectic!
I added some zig zag stitching to my diagonal strips!  So fun, you have to give it a try!

I have loved this
American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan

The flowers on this one were cute with a Sizzix die out of the

Inspiration Elevator Reveal

You may recall from last month's challenge that the purpose of this challenge group was to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow.

This month our challenger was the very talented Laurel Seabrook. Laurel loves flea markets and garage sales and would love to incorporate more of those items into her art. In fact, we have invited a valued guest designer to join us this month; her name is Christy Riopel. We welcome, Christy from her regular writing and creating job at Canadian Scrapbooker magazine.

Here's a bit of what Laurel had to say in her challenge this month.

"I love going to garage sales, flea markets and thrift shops to find fun items for me to upcycle into something else either for my own home or to give as a gift. I also love just to pick up some old things that appear to have some sort of story to them. I love the shabbiness of old, worn items and the warm comforting feeling they evoke.

My challenge for you is to scrap an old photo/photos. Not only that I want you to incorporate something that is not normally a scrapping item, upcycle/recycle something to include on your layout. Vintage is definitely not my style when it comes to paper crafting. I like clean and simple so this will be a challenge for me."

This was quite a challenge, I haven't created with vintage items in quite a while..but I did have some things in my stash.  A wonderful plastic doily from the 50's that a girl friend found while hitting the garage sales and lots of old patterns from a very special neighbor of my parents. I have boxes and boxes of them to create with..and everytime I look at them, they make me smile and bring back so many wonderful memories of her and my childhood!
The layout is of my Grandma and yes, she had smashing style!
I sprayed Glimmer Mist over the doily towards the center, but it is kind of hard to see.  Lots of layering, some machine stitching, and flowers cut from the vintage sewing envelopes and patterns!

The sketch is from Page Drafts.

I hope you will stop by and see what the designers on this adventure have created:

We would love to see what you are inspired to create. Add your comment below with a link, I will be sure to drop by and say hello.

Freshman Year Layout...EP Everyday Eclectic!

I had a chance to create just for myself and also Max had reminded me that I haven't done a layout about her for a while...so I had to get it done.  I was super inspired by a layout I saw in Studio Calico's Gallery...
My layout does not compare by any means...her's is unbelievably gorgeous!
But I wanted to try my hand at layering and just letting go a bit.  I am fairly pleased with it!  A little of this and a little of that which made it perfect for using
Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic!

Honestly, I would love to know your thoughts..is it too much, too little, just right or as Max says it's gawdy and obnoxious!  Oh the fun on a teen age girl!

Moxxie Road To Recovery Blog Hop

It's time for another Moxxie Blog Hop! Join the Moxxie Muses the first Friday of every month to be inspired and for the chance to win a complete collection of the featured line! We're continuing our blog hop series with the Road to Recovery collection.

Moxxie released the Road To Recovery collection, an elegant and poignant line designed for people fighting long-term illnesses, in July. Moxxie thought it was time to create a beautiful line that focused on healing, but also encouraged the writer to be honest about what they were really going through. The designs of this collection are versatile and can not only help a patient document their recovery, but it can also be used for get well, thinking of you, and sympathy cards, as well as to create layouts on just about any topic.

I created a dry erase board with a 3 section frame, you can simply remove the back and add a photo to the top section, if you wish!  I just thought it would be nice to have an inspiring word or quote in view every day!  I think it's a very important part in the
"Road to Recovery".

The quote in the center of the frame reads
"Life is without meaning.  You bring the meaning to it.  The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be.
Being alive is the meaning." Joesph Campbell

Ready, Set, Hop!
Cathy Harper (you are here)
Comment deadline for the prize is Monday 9/10 midnight CST and we'll announce the winner Tuesday on the Moxxie blog. Thanks so much for hopping with us!

Open to US residents only.  International customers are welcome to play, as long as they agree to pay shipping if they win the prize!

Moxxie All Hallow's Eve Pocket Cards

I had a ton of fun creating these pocket cards with Moxxie's All Hallow's Eve Collection and Silhouette (Lori Whitlock) files.  The rolled flowers were cut with the Silhouette also, using last year's Moxxie Midnight Dreary line.  I couldn't find any Halloween Pixie Stix or Candy Sticks to put in them...but that is my plan!

Super spooky Moxxie fun!
